[FULL] First Round RESULTS

by BLueSS » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:23 pm

I bumped up all 3 reviews from Krazy and LK4D4, because they put in more work than anyone else judging the files (and to mention they were very detailed reviews - and I like that).

Bracket 1 Scores: [scores]
-Unfortunately both judges for b1 were unable to complete their judging- If a song got robbed at all, vote for it in the wildcard.

Bracket 2 Scores: [scores] - [judging]
Bracket 3 Scores: [scores] - [judging]

The top 3 move on. Any song that gets a score of 20 or above is eligible for the wildcard vote.

Due to the problems that continue to plague the contest when I use judges, I'm going to discontinue the official use of judges (in the way they've normally been used) in future contests until otherwise stated. Unfortunately, I tried to ask about 12 different people to judge. Five said yes, 3 were able to finish, 1 of which is still coming later today (I hope).
This should not be taken as an insult to the judges; nor a slam on them being the cause behind the discontinued use. The judges I that said yes this tournament have generously given their time, and unfortunately two of them had unseen circumstances prevent them from finishing. I am thankful for all of them, as well as Krazy and LK4D4, along with the public reviewers. If we didn't have the participation that we managed to squeeze out this time, there wouldn't have been very good scores for the files.

Now, there will be a wildcard for sure. The vote will run until either Friday or Saturday of this week, depending on when the last judging comes in. Top 3 from the wildcard move on. Approval voting style.

The next week will be the voting for the final round, as well as the public votes associated to the top choices in the BM2 Olympics.

Wow, the results are pretty spot on.

Congrats to the top 3!

Geez, look how close the top 3 are. And they're all sort of higher than the rest, I guess that's pretty fitting, as the three of them stood out the most to me. (Roaster was great too, I hope that gets a wildcard)

Well-deserved, I actually agree with the results =O. (except for Professional Party People that deserved MUCH higher. Damn public judges!)

the steps were good (and that's pretty universally agreed on). did you want a dissertation on why they were good?

There's obviously no problem with it being about .076 seconds offbeat for one thing, right?

Well deserved top 3. Congrats, ????, ????????, & ??????/?????!

Wilcard has a good choice of sims, too. Best of luck to you 6 in the next round!

Whoever was Judge 3 is pretty obvious by one quote that I probably should not state.

No.

I expected an actual review. Critique.

Not popular service. There isn't any account of sync taken...there are numerous things such as patterns that could've been critiqued and...

Hell, I don't even know why I bother. [submits, posts sim and gets out]

He's absolutely right. Your judging has NO depth to it whatsoever.

considering how sync varies from computer to computer and that you can fix it on your own pretty quickly, no there isn't

Trust me, whoever was Judge 3 made the right choices, so there's nothing too critical the judge had to say in reguards to the top 3.

All right, my bad.

But still, the point stands.

Edit: Isn't judging supposed to give an idea of what people did right and wrong? Not just "cool! awesome!"
