Bracket 2 Results

by BLueSS » Sun Sep 09, 2007 8:04 pm

Well, sometimes the first shall be last, and the last shall be first.

B1 judging is finished, one of the judges just hasn't been able to get online and upload them for me.

So without further delay, here are the results for Bracket 2!

The top 13 files will be moving on.

RESULTS!

Anonymous judges? :o And why don't public reviews count towards each file's final grade?

I can't access Judge 8's comments, btw.

Yep, anonymous judges to be revealed at the end as well.

Public reviews have until Wednesday to be finished, which is why they are not in yet. They aren't factored for the first round, either. Only the top 50% from judges' scores.

And J8's comments are fixed.

make sure the first anonymous judge you reveal is the one who is delaying bracket 1

I'm slightly annoyed that extras are apparently a requirement in Judge 8's reviews. I thought it was established that extras were to make up for otherwise docked points for presentation and nothing further.

Wow Judge 8 heavily docked points off of Caravan of Love due to the 'boring' song, I thought this was not allowed.

Song Cut 1/3
For a song this slow and boring

nothing wrong I can see, but the steps were just boring

good for what you had to work with, but it was still boring

still was a little boring

steps and the song aren't interesting enough

And my favorite.......

the song was a boring song choice (I'm not taking off points for that though)

Just saying your not taking off points for a boring song is different than not taking off points for a boring song.

Yeah, this is true. I saw some reviews which were basically like "this file is perfect except it lacks extras so I can't give it a full score" which to me misses the point of extras. Other than that, thanks to the judges for their time.

Judge 8 missed some extras in some files and I can remember some wrongly totaled songs here and there. Careful in these areas, judges. They're the easiest areas to make mistakes.

I wonder if The Game of Love and Frontal Impact will switch places during PR's (if they total in for score), because they're both in a very tight race.

But, yah, Judge 8 was a bit off on Presentation.

These results could not make any less sense if they tried to.

There's a couple surprises, but otherwise everything seems reasonable results-wise.

I am simultaneously, in no particular order:

1. Unhappy that my entry did not get through to the next round.
2. Happy that my entry did get through to the next round.
3. Eagerly anticipating the results for bracket one to see whether or not my entry got through to the next round.

Having carried out an in-depth analysis of the results, largely through flogging llamas with a belt, I have come to the conclusion that Judge 8 was quite definitely on the vodka when writing his/her reviews - so much so, that it was all gone before the other two got there, so they stuck to caffeine-free black coffee instead.

I'm not quite sure what point I'm trying to convey here...

Many of the final results made sense. The judges gave VERY constructive criticism in my opinion on all the difficulties. Thanks for that.

There are still a couple of results I'm scratching my head on... *scratch scratch*
