VOTING IS OVER!

I want to add in that I wouldn't have minded any of the 4 graphics being the winner, as I liked all of them. None of the entries were bad at all, Akira's entry just got the most votes.

Why are the last three images so much bigger than the first?

Because it's 256x80 instead of 512x160.

I'd prefer to use the larger ones to you could see the details in them, but I only have that small one for #1, unless joel stud?! uploads a larger one...

Delete the "-1" right before the ".png" from the link to my banner and you should get a full sized version.

Um, midnight on the 16th is the very beginning of the 16th, not the end... or at least that's always how I've known it to be. That's because midnight = 12 am and we know that 12:01 am, 12:02 am etc. are part of the new day, so for consistency's sake you would put midnight on the new day... then again if you look at time.gov, the US's official time site, it makes no clarification on the matter. In fact it says that midnight isn't 12 AM because the term "12 AM" doesn't make sense and shouldn't be used... http://tf.nist.gov/general/misc.htm

dang. I drove 45 minutes into Cooperstown, NY just to get a signal to see if I won or not.
