SCHEDULE & ROUND BREAKDOWN
SCHEDULE & ROUND BREAKDOWN
WED - July 25th: Rules Released
SUN - August 19: FILES DUE
(Week Wait for Judges to Work)
SUN - August 26: Round 1 - 20~30 Files Released
SUN - September 2: Round 1 Results (Top 10 move on)
MON - September 3: Round 2 - 20~30 Files Released
SUN - September 9: Round 2 Results (Top 10 move on)
MON - September 10: Round 3 - Approval Vote to Move On. (50% advance to finals) (see below for explanation) [Possible Wildcard as well]
SUN - September 16: Round 3 - Results / Finalists Announced
MON - September 17: Final Round - Approval Voting (100 pts, distributed by % vote)
SUN - September 23: Final Results and Entrants/Judges Revealed.
Judges with entries will be kept secret until the end as well.
Otherwise, when Judge A only judges the first round, it will
be wasy to see that his file must be in the second half.
Final Score Calculations:
Judges' Average + Public Review + Approval Vote/Final Round
Max of 50 + Max of 25(AVG)+ % of 100 from vote = Possible Total of Around 80~90 Points
********
Public Reviews will be a little different. If your song is in the pack judging, make up a fake score and treat it like it was any other file. When compiling the score's I'll take it out secretly.
6 points must be for steps, 4 for Presentation - Multiplied by 3 at the end. The average will be added to the judges' average after ROUND 3! PR's are worth more, to allow more time for proper review to be done, instead of just playing everything once and making a PR.
********
Approval Voting is a unique way of voting for *MULTIPLE* files, allowing you to vote for your own at the same time so entrants don't feel robbed or cheated.
In the Approval Voting system, you vote for EACH AND EVERY file you think deserves to win. This could be one file, 4 files, 18 out of 20; it's all up to each voter how many they want to vote for - but keep in mind this should only be for the ones you want to win.
For Round 3 - to advance to the finals, the top 50% of the files with the highest amount of votes will move on.
For the final round, the # of entries (probably 10) in the final round will be multiplied by 10 points, ending up with (most likely) 100 points to be divided to the entries.
The votes each song receives will be added together, and the percentage of votes received will be taken from the total number of votes (vote, meaning each vote for a song, not someone's whole "voting sheet").
The percentage of total votes received will be multiplied the 100, and those points will be added to the score from the Judging and Public Review.
SO IN SIMPLE TERMS:
1) To Advance in Round 1 & 2: Be in top 50% from Judges
2) To Advance into Final Round - Be top 50% from Approval Vote [Possible Wildcard]
3) To Win (Top 3 for prizes) - Judges Scores + PR + Final Vote = Final Scores Added Together

I like this idea as well, as I've often seen people comment that they "would have voted for such-and-such a file if they had one more vote." With Approval Voting, they'll have all the votes they could possibly need.

Ok, here's the deal. I was all happy, uploading my entry, and then I was like, "OMG! I forgot to finish the (insert something here)! So I hit the stop button, went in and fixed it, and then uploaded it completely.
Now, I don't exactly know what happens to the files at your end, but if you get two files, one of which is corrupted, you know which one to use.
If there are any problems, or you want me to upload again, just let me know.
