Not that I'm at all against this...but the whole thing is I actually want some ACTUAL input.
I don't want someone to just drop in numbers and call it done. I don't want someone to come up with reasons for hating it because of biased opinions on what is right and what is wrong...and I certainly don't want a review saying 'oh the song's good but I don't know if it translates to steps'.
I do want to get better, I've said that earlier in either this, some other thread, or somewhere outside of this forum many times but it does take someone with an understanding of what it is you actually DO in a simfile that understands what good IS in order to learn from them...not some jagoff that doesn't like the song or can't pass the steps that doesn't have a clue. This would be the side of the people who think their feedback sucks.
For the neutral side, of course, trying to find something like that has its issues. There are far, far more people that look at a simfile yet don't sim themselves than the opposite. That's the problem going into one of these things and expecting professional and learned feedback...but it's always nice to see what the common individual is going to think of your file when it comes down to it. If you're too plain, they're obviously going to look at that regardless of it being flawless step structure or not. If it's not a song they like, it's going to be obvious when they go to rate it when they really don't want to.
And finally on the bias side, there may need to be a better way of handling it this next time around because, as we've all seen, people like to whine and complain about why they really aren't wrong in a simfile when they really could be and they are incapable of taking possible and credible critique when they really could be wrong once again. After a point, I sincerely stopped caring though...because it seemed more people are worried about taking first in a competition than taking actual feedback.
I'm sure BlueSS's PM box has been flooded with that tripe over the last few weeks.
Anonymous seems all well and good...but then we get these 'guess the step artist' threads that mostly debunk the purpose anyways. If people don't like an author to begin with and they sort of figure out who it is then their review will be as biased.
As for teams...well it's a nice concept, I'll admit that, and I don't have a problem working in teams with people and I've done it several times over the years and have no problem (in fact, I encourage it; I like taking and giving ideas) but I would wonder if that alone would double the drama...just a thought in terms of one person bitching about theirs anonymously then you'll get two or more double-teaming said person again.
The only thing is I couldn't tell you how to organize it to drop the drama the next go round. That'll be something that'll be up to BlueSS and subordinates.
CPU: I agree but only when it's one that you know is CLEARLY not about competition. That's why I've done the work in DSU that I've done from 2 on up; we're there to make a pack...we're not there to knock heads and call each other idiots because they have no clue what they're talking about, etc. etc.
