WEST BATTLE B1 - Levan Polkka vs Time To Move

by BLueSS » Sat Apr 05, 2008 12:26 am

*NEW RULE* - YOU MUST VOTE IN ALL 4 BATTLES! (Only two are up right now) - If you have a file in the top 8, you can vote, and are allowed to vote for your own.

THIS ONLY APPLIES TO ROUND 2 BATTLES!

Jesus Pooping Christ, this is like, the hardest decision ever.

Both songs have great graphics, a slowdown, full charts. They're both amazing songs, and It would seem extremely wrong for me to have to choose just one of them.

Because of this, I'm resorting to Doubles mode voting :-S

Leven Polkka seems to have some relatively confusing Spins/turns because of the freezes, but makes up for it by being a bit different than it's singles chart.

Time to Move also is pretty different, though I can't tell if it's for the better, but it doesn't have any truly awkward Spin/Turns.

Time to Move it is then. Sorry Leven, I wish I could have voted for both :(

time to move is a good song and has good steps, but the steps weren't so captivating that it needed to be as long as it was. i'm not saying it's too long, but it could be shorter. it's nitpicking, but that's what you gotta do when you have to pick between two good files :(

anyway, like i said, they're both good files, but i vote for Ieven polkka

Both have good steps, but Time to Move seems like it was harder to make good steps to so I sort of appreciate it more. I like the song more, so I'd play it more often than Levan. Silly reasons, but what DGJ said.

I'm voting for Time To Move for pretty much the same reasons as everyone else said.

Ievan Polka was simply too conservative for a file. It also has some poor doubles writing but that's just beating a dead horse. It doesn't try anything new or exciting and relegates nearly all of the rhythms it offers to simple eighth notes.

Time To Move.

Time to Move is a fantastic file, Ievan Polkka isn't, that's just where it ends for me.

I will echo x0's remark that Ievan Polkka is very conservative. I think that's why I never liked it.

Levan Polkka. Conservative? Maybe, but that doesn't mean it's not fun, and the song choice seals it for me.[/b]

Time to Move has much more structure than levan. Levan seems like it is trying to incorporate as many different patterns as possible.

Time to Move is possibly my favorite file in the tournament. Gotta go with it.

LEVAN POLKA

Time To Move was solid, but not nearly as smooth or unique as Levan Polka.

Ultimate trance showdown!

Lrxevan Polkka was a good file, but I felt Time to Move was just that little bit better structured and authentic, even if it runs a bit long. The steps just fit together and phrased better, I think. Awesome graphics too.
