QFT.

Like I said, I'm not launching any personal attacks on anyone. I was merely trying to put my personal point across, and if I came across a bit too strongly or agressively at first, I apologise.

So hey, how about this:

BRACKET 2 VOTES END AT MIDNIGHT ON WEDNESDAY (PST).

And you need to make sure you vote for EVERY BRACKET!

I don't like having to vote in each bracket (some of the remaining simfiles didn't make my cut) but I do like the no judges:

If I had a file in the top categories I could just vote for the worse files in all the others and try to win that way, kinda like all those reality tv shows, it's not about the best file, it's about the luck of the draw and how you play the game...

Haha, I can see where the_ditz is coming from--there are certainly a few messy points in this competition (but I won't reiterate them). But at the same time, I think it's a pretty fun diversion, which is what it's supposed to be.

I churned my file (art, cut, and all) out in less than 3 hours and entered it on a lark. I'd planned to just grab the files, ignore this whole thing for a while, and come back to see the results, but when I saw the way the initial brackets were "judged", I thought that was pretty cool. The elimination voting is quite novel as well, and I feel I've gotten exactly what I signed on for.

Props to BLueSS for taking a few risks with this competition, and having the result come out as fun as promised.

does this mean the 15 vote rule no longer applies?

Yes. The 15 vote rule does not apply this round, the brackets will all end Wednesday at Midnight (PST).

Xythar wrote:For what it's worth I agree that the "24 hours with no votes equals end of poll" rule was unnecessary. Even though it was applied to all files, it still makes a lot more sense to just set a deadline for all polls. That's the way it's always been done before for public votes in these competitions and I see no reason to change it.

It wasn't unnecessary. I liked that rule. It encouraged people to vote early, instead of waiting until the end and maybe forgetting about voting or putting it off completely.

Except for the people who forgot about it, intended to vote then found they weren't able to >_>

No - you have a deadline that people know about from the start. Better for everyone.

I really get the impression that we're flogging a dead horse here...

I'll be interested to see if we do get any more votes before the deadline...

I'm still going to vote, I just haven't gotten around to playing the 8 files yet. I keep meaning to do it then getting sidetracked and then it's bedtime
