So, if I'm reading this right, we make H,S,L and they have to be stepped without mines, hands, and rolls. Does this mean we have to step the song DDR style (Double stepping and highest foot rating 10), or do we just step it as normal.

Double stepping is a DDR-centric trait now?

No, it doesn't have to be "strict ddr style" but should be "ddr style" in that it isn't ITG.

If you want to make a hard song that would still be realistic within the normal ddr style, that's fine, double stepping is fine if used properly/creatively...

Well I was just wondering if what you meant by "DDR Style" was what you would find in a DDR game, or just stepping without mines/rolls/hands.

Be creative, just don't make it ITG.

lol redundant OOOOOOH

Do we have guidelines for bg and banner and such, or will we just use the last one's rules for that?

1) You better have them
2) They better look good and work properly in Stepmania

However, I HIGHLY recommend following the rules from last time, as that is the normal standard that most of the people will be evaluating your file based on.

Okay.

Next question: what is the tag for a fixed BPM in StepMania? DWI's #DISPLAYBPM: isn't working.

Is there a limit to how many times we can change our song (other than the fact that it'll make BlueSS hate us)

Judging is secretly based on how many times you change your song.

EDIT: How do I submit my file (not song choice, it's done)?

Try it formatted like this?
Code: Select all
#DISPLAYBPM:180.000:360.000;

Nope, just send me a new PM.

PM me a link to it hosted somewhere. Yousendit or megaupload, ftp; as long as I can download it, it's good.

Save often! Same happens when SM crashes, and data loss makes people sad.

I'll have another shot at a contest. Gotta do something in a 3-month summer vacation.

Well got mine done.

Good thing too, considering after this Sunday I'll be too busy playing something else to work on any simfiles...
