BEST-mix 1.5 - Spring Break!

by BLueSS » Sun Feb 24, 2008 1:29 am

Yep, so here's the simple posting of the small, 1 week (hopefully) tournament planned for the only time I would be able to host it, my spring break! :D

Nope, I'm not going to Mexico, Cabo, or those other stupid places where silly college students go to get plastered and forget what happened the night before. I'm doing something *cough* productive with my spring break.

Rules:
1 song
DDR Style, L/S/H required.
No obscenities (normal tournament rules)
1:10-2:30 length

There is no judging criteria, because as stated after BEST-mix #1, this next one would not have judges. Hopefully the alternative will be fun, because after all, it's a spring break tournament. There's still the $10 prize of mine from last time, should anyone want it, but this is a fun tournament, not a serious business tournament.

FILES DUE: SATURDAY MARCH 22nd, just less than a month.
The files will hopefully be released Sunday, with the rest of the week following for the discussion and "judging."

If I forgot anything important, post a question. It's 1:30am and I came back from a party, so I'm kinda tired. 8)

Is it still anonymous then?

Ah, knew I forgot something.

Yes, anonymous entries again. PM me your registrations.

Also, to be eligible to enter, you need to have an established identity in the simfile community. If I don't know who you are and can't search you up, prove to me you've been around and have released simfiles before.

This isn't to keep it limited, but to prevent people from entering more than one file under fake aliases.

I'm entering this time, and I might actually finish my file this time around

Time to finally redeem myself!

Oh man, awesome!

Have to come up with something. I know I definitely won't be working on anything until after the RV entry date.

I'll have to see if I can find something suitably different again.

I've already completed most of my entry, but I'm still looking forward to completing and entering it. Overall, I'm very hyped about this contest! 8)

I also want to point out (as I've had a few questions about it) that this is a side, fun tournament.

That means that even though it's still "DDR STYLE", this doesn't mean that your file should be a cookie-cutter eurobeat (or non-eurobeat) file that has blah boring steps but "fits well in DDR".

PLEASE BE CREATIVE

This is Spring Break BEST-mix after all... Spring break is supposed to be fun and wild.

That means that gimmicks of any sort are OK, as long as they are NOT ITG gimmicks (no mines, hands, or rolls). Anything else is fair game.

I must admit I'm worried about the whole "no judges" concept, but I'm also quite curious about what this alternative of yours will be, so I'll give this a shot.

I didn't have time to complete my entries for the DDRExtreme.co.uk contests, so I suppose I'll redirect my efforts toward this one.
