It apparently shows up to people who are not logged in into imageshack. The unregistered ones will show the golden frog.

That's why I boycott imageshack nowadays and move to better services like ImgUr and TinyPic

Oh. Didn't realize Imgur is primarily an image sharing site. I just go on there for silly images and hilarious comments. I kinda see it as another 4chan. Or, I dunno, Reddit related. Are they in the same vein or am I helplessly confused?

It's basically a really simple image hosting site with embed features geared towards sites like reddit, so you're not really wrong. It's great if you have to upload images quickly and don't want to hassle with an account. You can also package a bulk image upload into one album, which is insanely useful if you often upload in bulk (as opposed to sending 5 million image links to people). They even have browser add-ons for quick image uploads.

I used to use photobucket a lot since imageshack is kind of gross...but imgur is just awesome, whether you have an account or not.

I use entirely imgur nowadays. Easily the best imagehosting site I've seen
