Dont say that, in one day you can make a cool song with 2 or 3 chars...

Also i recomend you all use ddreamstudio...

www.ddreamstudio.com

its a stepmaking tool, very usefull, and more powerfull than the sm editor.
Just you need to look for a screenshot, with that editor you can see the sound wave under the charts...

Eh, I've gotten efficient enough with SM's editor to not really need to learn another one. The waveform thing isn't much use to me unless it supports spectral analysis, if not then I'll stick to using SM and CoolEdit in tandem.

I wonder if anyone's made a decent editor for BMSes yet...

The unlimited undo feature is a good idea. The waveform thing... Does it allow you to cut the song from within the editor? That's something I've wanted to see in Stepmania and it would be extremely useful to have. Otherwise I wouldn't have much use for it...

I don't think it allows you to cut songs in it directly.

Other tools would be more efficient for that anyway, such as Sony ACID for me.

Also it doesn't have a Mac version

Though I do really like the program and I wish it did :(

I love ddreamstudio for determining BPM/offset, making fine-tuned BPM gimmicks, and assisting in cutting tracks (I Shift+Tab, read off the milliseconds on the beats I need to cut or fade, and make selections in Audacity). The amplitude display is really helpful for all this.

The actual step editor is rather clunky though, in my opinion, so I just ship a blank but sync'd SM file over to StepMania when I'm all ready to make steps.

Its nice in much ways... also putting steps is faster cause you use space bar to star stop and the mouse wheel to up and down, for me makes it easier...
Also offset/BPM and general starting sync its perfect, when the songis done i only need to autosync on sm and ready...

Atleast, its more powerfull than sm editor in my opinion.

About the song editor... its a stepmaking tool not and wave editor...
Also, has assist beat for the first syncs, and a bunch of features that are more intuitive that basic sm editor.

But its everyone choice...

GL peeps with the contest... lets stop offtopic

I cut my tracks with Sony Acid Pro, sync just fine in the normal editor. Loki you don't know my schedule lol
