Entry: Vodka / MAD COW AND THE ROYAL EUROBEAT ORCHESTRA OF BAZOOKISTAN Presentation - 20 / 20 Give me a second while I buy a bottle of Absolut Citron. Mmm... your presentation as a whole was certainly inviting (the samplestart ALONE made me want to play the song), with an excellent set of graphics, the background especially, which certainly gave an immediate impression on what to expect in the song-- vodka, and lots of it!!! They make a great combination, no? The video was excellent as well, and added a lot to a very well thought-out simfile. Hmmm... there are Beginner steps, as well. Nice job-- you just made your simfile appeal to just about every DDR player in existence... except the eurobeat haters. Steps (no Oni) Light Chart - 4.8 / 5 A well-made chart that will test a low-level player's skill in DDR. The step density is fairly high, but it definitely screamed "hyper-active eurobeat about an alcoholic drink" (in conjunction with the actual patterns used, which mind you, worked very well with the theme of the song). There aren't really any issues here, although the step density is somewhat rightist in the first parts of the song, and you could have tried to balance it out a little bit (unless of course, you modify the way you face in the first part of the song, wherein it'd be excellently-balanced). After all, vodka is best enjoyed with something to balance it out with... like the howling winds of Siberia. Standard Chart - 10 / 10 Quite a step up from the controlled style of Light, with a more liberal use of jumps and 8th-note patterns that further accentuated the theme of the song. The problems in Light, if any, were solved here, as the whole chart flowed very well in terms of motion and orientation. Personally, the best part here was how you modified the steps to greatly suit the over-all elements of the song, with a basic pattern being seen in plays going "Vodka! Vodka!" being modified depending on the accompanying beats and melodies (the jumps were also no slouch, and they came in the best of places). Over-all, an excellent chart. Heavy Chart - 11.5 / 15 A mixed bag. Although the patterns you used for the first half of the song were excellent, the way they were used in the second half of the song, given that it is the calmer part of the song, bothers me. It's so much quieter there, and while the steps used would be perfect if you had a good beat backing up the melodies (as was the case in the first part of the song), it didn't quite work out as well considering the fact that it was a more relaxed portion of the song you were dancing to. You did redeem the consistency of patterns in the last part of the song, where the steps certainly showed that they relaxed towards the calmer parts in the end. Patterns were well-executed in terms of motion and orientation, so I guess this is the only real problem of the chart... although it can be a fairly big one.
