Entry: Metallic Mind / DJ TECHNORCH fw. GUHROOVY Presentation - 14 / 20 Fairly hard to understand, partly due to the color scheme used and the bluriness of the text (particularly in the background-- the text there can be quite difficult to read). The graphics themselves emphasize a highly metallic look, given the name of the song, and despite the issues with the bluriness in the text (and to some extent the primary image), were well-selected. Pretty good job. The song seems to be somewhat faint here... is this a GST version? It sounds that way... the OST is already released, so you could possibly use a better sound file if that is the case. Lots of bonus charts here as well, a good deal of which were well-executed. Lots of stuff to play here... nice job. Steps (no Oni) Light Chart - 4 / 5 The first parts make this seem more like a 4-footer, with a relatively high step density and fairly liberal use of jumps that give it a lot of spice in those portions. However, the chart calms down towards the middle, which balances out the pattern difficulty in the beginning (and to some extent, the end). This went very well with the frantic nature of this song, and for the most part, was well-executed; patterns were very well-selected... until we get to the fact that the patterns were highly leftist. You could try balancing out the pattern orientations a bit-- the patterns are quite sound, they just need to be given a bit more spice by moving them around. Otherwise, it was quite good. Standard Chart - 9 / 10 A nice, well-balanced set of patterns sets the stage for a well-laid out chart for a frantic song with a lot of quirky variations in its melodies. The heavy use of jumps and short 8th-note patterns shows off the heavier part of the song, which was well-balanced by lighter patterns towards the middle, where the song calms down considerably, making for a package that has a lot of various step motions in it. The steps were well-oriented this time around, with a nice, balanced set of steps that'll pump one up... as one goes from Standard to low Heavy. Excellent, though it'd probably be better if you had a more gradual build-up at around bars 33-39, where the calm part of the song starts picking up energy for the last portions of the song. It'd be a nice touch. Heavy Chart - 13.5 / 15 Ace-- the chart was very fun to play, highly technical, throwing a wide variety of patterns that matched the feel of the song very well... in a very frantic pace. The lack of freeze arrows actually worked for the chart, as they certainly showed where the song would break down considerably in order to allow for a more relaxed transition from the opening portions to the later portions, which fit the feel of the steps very well. The steps themselves were well-selected (just reiterating that), and were well-executed and well-placed.... the last parts of the chart alone attest to that. Just lighten up on the jumps a little bit (they were a bit too much in around bars 40+), and this'd be perfect.
