Entry: The Eleventh Hour / Id est corrupt Presentation - 19 / 20 Gives a sense of impending doom, given the samplestart, banner and background, which all worked very well in making a simple, but eerie mood, for this simfile. Despite the lack of extras, it still turned me on due to the eerie, bossy mood of the presentation (although you should tweak the banner text a bit-- its hard to read, simply "lower" it). The steps are a different matter, however, which will be noted in quite a bit. Steps (no Oni) !!! PROBLEM !!! The BPM changes and/or stops seemed to have made the song somewhat off-sync towards the latter parts of the song. Please tweak the BPM changes and/or stops, as they can greatly affect the flow of the rest of the charts. (Automatic -25% to all chart scores) The fact that some of the BPM changes didn't fit the theme of the song very well didn't help as well (particularly the 660 BPM ones... some of them were at arguably quieter parts of the song, which didn't work out very well). Light Chart - 2.5 / 5 = 1.875 / 5 A fairly well-balanced Light 7-footer that lived up to the intensity of the song, while keeping it fairly accessible to mid-level players. The difficulty is based on two things: the liberal use of jumps (which accounted for 65% of the difficulty of the chart) and the frequent BPM changes (which will certainly throw players off far more than how the basic DDR boss songs did in terms of speed changes). As for the steps themselves, they were quite a mixed bag. The first parts had it going well, with balanced 4th-note patterns being accented with the occassional jump, but its towards the end where it gets somewhat silly, with a super jump run (despite it being noted in your readme)... which I didn't exactly find to be a good idea (a Sexy Planet NSMegamix jump run would have fared better, and aesthetically, it'd be a lot nicer to play and look at). Standard Chart - 8 / 10 = 6 / 10 Well... it's a difficult Standard chart, and would have been a Heavy chart had this not been a boss song. Anyway, it serves its purpose quite well. Interestingly enough, it is the most well-balanced chart in the trio, having a nice mix of 4th-note and 8th-note patterns in its variable BPM. Execution was quite good, with a nice set of motions and step orientations that worked very well with the song, and the other steps in the song. It's nice that you balanced your pattern use this time around, choosing not to go overboard with the jumps in the latter portions (unlike the easier charts). The spins can get a bit aggravating, but they did work well. Nice job. Heavy Chart - 11 / 15 = 8.25 / 15 Oddly enough... this is a pretty good 10+ footer chart with only a few issues. In terms of pattern execution, motion and orientation, it worked out very well, with a nice selection of very difficult patterns being boosted by the high song BPM. The feel of impending doom from the presentation certainly showed itself here-- the patterns were very tricky to play, and certainly managed to become a decent boss song, without going totally overboard with the steps. The only real problems here were one, the jumps (at times, they look really awkward... in a bad sense-- bars 88-93 show this; sometimes, they seem to be a bit too excessive, although you did take that up in the readme-- towards the end, particularly towards the end, where the song broke down considerably)... and that spin pattern with the fast 8th-notes towards the end-- yes, it is like a clock, but it looked plain silly if you didn't doublestep. Otherwise, it was pretty well-done.
