Entry: Caramelldansen (Speedycake Mix) / Caramell Presentation - 11 / 20 Wow, the BN and BG certainly looked really cute! Add a nice, well-edited samplestart, and a well-planned video script, and you get a very inviting simfile that certainly lives up to its theme! There are some additional charts here, ranging from a good singles Beginner chart and some Doubles charts (which unfortunately, ruined it for me-- they were either highly rightist or just plain cluttered-- they need a lot of work, all three of them), that would probably make this simfile appeal to a great number of players (although the execution of the Doubles charts might disappoint Doubles players). Steps (no Oni) Light Chart - 5 / 5 A pretty good way to "start one's day"-- a nice assortment for simple 4th-note patterns with the occassional hold and jump implement. The patterns were well-balanced, and complimented the song's cute, energetic feel-- this was best seen in the last part, where some full turns artfully accent the well-placed runs that litter the final chorus. No issues here-- very good chart that'll train and entertain low-level players. Standard Chart - 10 / 10 This chart took what was already great with the Light chart, and made it even better, with patterns that still fit the song quite well (although they are a lot more complex, with 8th-note patterns being added to the mix), while being very fun to play. I liked how you made some of the patterns transition into some of the later patterns (such as that 4th-note cross-over at bars 31-33-- really went well with the progression in the song). That said, this chart was excellent-- no real issues. Heavy Chart - 9 / 15 Oh, wow-- it was almost there-- the step selection was perfect, with steps that really felt the theme of the song, especially the use of the jumps and 8th-note patterns, which were all used consistently and excellently. And then, we have two problems-- first of all, I think you lose the 16th-note patterns. They were only really present in the start, and didn't exactly merge well with the rest of the steps. The jump patterns were more than sufficient in handling the parts where you used the 16th-note patterns. Secondly, I noticed that the chart was very leftist for a good portion of the song (the first parts up to the middle had a leftist orientation). Please balance out your steps-- they'd really "feel" the song if you tried to add a lot of movement here (that must ideally be well-balanced in terms of orientation).
